John Stockton's assists record is almost impossible to beat, can anyone beat it?

John Stockton had a really long career. He was really good at passing. He also had a little advantage in playing alongside one of the best scorers of all time in Karl Malone. He averaged 15 assists multiple times in his career. He leads all other NBA players by nearly 3,000 assists. What makes it crazier is that he also scored 20,000 points. He is the player in the NBA that combined for the second most points created. This is a mix of all his points and assists, but the assists that were two's give two points and 3's give 3. He only trails Lebron James. Stockton did everything in his power to set up his teammates, team success and making people around him better, that's also what makes him such an important player to have.

We all know the greatness of Earvin "Magic" Johnson. He was the leader of the showtime Lakers. The only rookie in NBA history to win a Finals MVP. He was the first tall point guard and the original point forward. The first player to be able to play every position on the court. He's also known for his exceptional passing skills. Unfortunately his career was cut short because he got HIV. Magic was on his way to becoming one of the greatest to ever do it. Along with all these incredible things he missed out on, there was also the assists record. Magic was way on his way to beating John Stockton. In only 13 seasons he racked up 10,141 assists, if he had played for 5 season longer he would have easily beat out John Stockton. Unlike Stockton Magic in my opinion had more flashy passes. It doesn't make them worth more, but he was funnier to watch play. He and Stockton were very much alike, team first players. They were all about winning, not about who scored.

Trae Young has been a great passer since he entered the league. He has been in the top 5 in the league for assists. He might be able to reach 13 assists a game. He is young and has a lot of potential. Trae young has started off quicker and is already in front of John Stockton by age 24. In fact Trae Young is 800 assists in front of Stockton, but Trae Young also scorers a lot more, so for him to beat stockton he would need to at least average 12 assists per game for 1100 to beat stockton. I think if anyone can break the almost unbreakable record it's Trae Young. I think it might be too early to make predictions, but if he doesn't have a big injury and miss an entire season he will at least be close to beating him.
