It's crazy how good Kareem Abdul- Jabbar was. He was way ahead of his time. Only Wilt Chamberlain could block him. He invented a new shot and nobody could stop it. The skyhook is the hardest shot in NBA history to block. Kareem is 7'2" so that already gives him a big advantage. It's also incredible that he scored so much in the era were most games ended in the 80s. Him scoring 30 a game means he scored more than a third of the points for his team. It seemed impossible to beat until Lebron James joined the league. When you look at the top 4 on the scoring list they got 2 things in common. 1 they were really good at scoring in there own ways and 2 longevity. All of them have played 19+ seasons by the time they retired.
For the past 5 years we all found out that Lebron James was going to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time scoring record. Nobody knows exactly when, but it will be this season because he only misses 1300 points. Lebron has been incredible for his entire career. He has scored 25 points per game ever since his sophomore season and he is 37 years old. It looks like he will play until he is 50. When he retires he will hold almost every record ever. As long as he plays fifty games and scores his career avg. he will pass Kareem. He might break one of the best records in the league and he might reach, as the first player ever in NBA history 40,000 points. Recently Lebron James has focused more on his teamates, assists and his team winning, making him more of a team player.
Luka Doncic has shown that he is the best young player on the league and that he has potential of being top 10 all-time. Luka is an incredible scorer at every level, but he can also do the rest. Since he was drafted he has been a 30/10/10 player. He is the second highest in scoring avg. during the playoffs trailing the G.O.A.T himself Michael Jordan. It's almost impossible to stop him. He is only 23, but next season he could arguably be the best player in the league and the MVP. He is scoring at a high rate. Because of injury he is not the player with most points in the regular season at any age. If somebody will beat Lebron it's him because as a rookie he scored nearly 22 PPG. and Lebron only averaged 20 so he is already a step ahead. If he beats him he would do it late in his career when he is about 37 years old or something close to that.
